Sushi Rice

  • 5 cups of short grained rice
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 cup of rice vinegar

Then rinse the rice under cold, running water until it is clear, then, after draining the rice thoroughly, put it into a frying pan and add 5 cups of water. Bring this to the boil over high heat, then allot it to simmer and cook covered for 10-15 minutes, which should absorb all the water. Next, you will need a shallow baking tray and spread the rice evenly while adding the rice vinegar. It is important to fan the rice and turn it frequently for about 15 minutes, until it is at room temperature, and your sushi rice is ready to roll.
